Looking at Weave for missed calls?
The short version: Weave is a front-office platform that describes itself as purpose-built for healthcare practices: VoIP phones you port your number into, scheduling, forms, payments, reviews, and AI, starting from $199 a month by its own pricing page, with per-plan prices behind a sales conversation. Its missed-call feature is one customizable auto-text per caller per day. BeepBack is only the missed call: it texts back in your business’s name, asks what the job is, how soon, and where, and hands you a sorted lead for $79 a month flat, behind the phone setup you already have. If you run a dental or veterinary front desk, Weave is aimed at you. If you run a truck, it isn’t.
What Weave actually is
Weave is a big, real product: a publicly traded company (NYSE: WEAV) serving about 40,000 locations, almost all of them healthcare practices. The platform bundles a cloud phone system, two-way texting, email marketing, online scheduling, digital forms, insurance verification, payments, review management, and an AI receptionist it’s rolling out across 2026. Its industry pages cover dental, optometry, veterinary, medical, and specialty-medical practices. Pricing starts from $199 a month per its pricing page; the per-plan numbers aren’t published, and trackers report the entry plan around $199–249 a month per location with a one-time setup fee of roughly $500–750, as of mid-2026. Those are Weave’s published claims and third-party reports; confirm current numbers with Weave directly.
Built for the front desk, not the truck
Here’s the fit question. Weave used to blog at plumbers and HVAC shops, and review sites still note HVAC and plumbing pros among its users, but its current product pages are healthcare through and through. Buying it also means becoming a phone-system customer: your number ports into Weave (or Weave issues you a new one), your calls run on its VoIP and its desk phones, and leaving later means porting the number back out under its process, with an account in good standing. Per its terms of service, updated May 2026, orders with a term of a year or longer auto-renew unless you give 60 days’ notice, leaving mid-term means paying out the rest of the term, and even month-to-month service takes notice at least 30 days before the next billing period.
BeepBack asks none of that. Your number, carrier, and handsets stay exactly as they are; one call-forwarding setting sends only the calls you miss to BeepBack, and the text-back goes out in your business’s name from a dedicated number registered to your business with the carriers. No port, no hardware, no term. You’re not charged until your number is live.
One auto-text, or the conversation
Weave’s missed-call text does what it says on all its plans: when a call goes unanswered, the caller gets one customizable auto-text, at most one per caller per day. If they reply, the thread lands in Weave’s inbox for your front desk to handle. With a receptionist sitting at a screen, that loop works.
BeepBack is built for the business where nobody’s at a screen. It asks what the job is, how soon they need it (1 = emergency/today, 2 = this week, 3 = just a quote), the address, and the name, then tells the caller your team will confirm. The lead lands in your inbox already sorted by urgency, and you can take over the thread from your dashboard whenever you want. It’s the difference between a note that says someone called and knowing it’s a tripped panel that needs someone today. The longer version of that gap is in why one text isn’t enough.

So which are you?
If you’re a practice with a front desk, patient scheduling, insurance checks, and a fleet of desk phones, Weave bundles all of that from one large vendor, and that’s the buyer it prices for. Weigh it against the other practice suites; this page won’t pretend to be one.
If you’re a home-services business that ran into Weave while shopping, notice what you’d actually be buying: a healthcare platform, a number port, reported setup fees, and renewal terms with notice windows, to get a once-a-day auto-text at a $199-and-up price. The missed call is a $79 problem. BeepBack fixes exactly that: the caller hears from your business in seconds, the job details come back by text, and the lead is waiting sorted when your hands are free.
