Your number, your data

Last updated: July 18, 2026

When your BeepBack number goes live, it’s registered under your business’s name and managed by us on your behalf. It ends up on your trucks, your business cards, your Google listing, your review links, and the QR codes your customers scan. That makes it one of the most valuable things your business relies on, so we treat it the way you’d want us to: dedicated to you, and portable to you if you ever leave. This page spells out, in plain language, what happens if you ever decide to leave.

Registered under your business, portable to you

BeepBack provisions a local number for your business and registers it with the phone carriers under your business’s name for messaging compliance, and manages it on your behalf while you’re subscribed. Your existing line stays exactly as it is; BeepBack sits behind it with one call-forwarding setting. If you cancel, you don’t lose the number just because you left — in almost every case you can port it out and take it with you. Ports occasionally can’t be completed for reasons the carriers control (number type, or a details mismatch); if that happens we’ll tell you what’s needed.

Leaving is free, and we help

Port-out is assisted, and it costs you nothing from our side. Email hello@getbeepback.com and ask to port your number out, and we’ll hand over what your new provider needs to complete the transfer: the account details, the transfer PIN, and the current carrier information. We start on your port-out request quickly, usually within a couple of business days. We don’t charge you anything to port out - no port-out fee, no offboarding fee, no penalty for leaving. Your new carrier may have its own charge to bring the number in; that’s between you and them.

No retention games

Cancel from your BeepBack dashboard or with one email. There’s no phone tree, no “let me transfer you to retention,” no win-back script, and nothing you have to click through three times to make it stop. We’d rather earn the next month than trap you in it.

Your leads go with you

Your lead records go with you. While your account is open, and for 30 days after you cancel, you can download your leads; on request we’ll also export the message history we still have from your BeepBack conversations, minus anything a caller asked us to delete. We don’t hold your customer list hostage to keep you subscribed.

How a port-out works

The transfer itself is carried out by the phone carriers, on their process and their timeline, so no one can promise an exact completion date. Here’s the part we handle and the part they do:

You ask. Email hello@getbeepback.com from the address on your account and tell us you want to port your number out (we’ll send a short porting authorization for you to sign).

We hand off what your new carrier needs. We send you the account number, transfer PIN, and carrier details quickly, usually within a couple of business days, and we stay reachable while your new provider files the port.

The carriers move the number. Your new provider submits the request and the carriers complete the transfer on their own timeline, often a few business days for a straightforward port. Keep BeepBack running until it lands, so nothing falls through the gap.

One honest note about timing

After you cancel, your number stays parked and reachable for 30 days while you decide. Port it out within that window and it goes with you. If the 30 days pass without a port-out, the carrier registration behind the number is torn down, and coming back later means starting the roughly two-week carrier verification over again. If you’re not sure yet, a billing pause keeps your number, its registration, and your founding rate alive instead of ending them.
